Working it out
A US gallon is exactly 231 cubic inches. The 10% allowance covers resin left in mixing buckets, small leaks and resin absorbed by the wood. Live-edge channels are rarely the same width end to end, so measure the width every 6–12 inches and use the average.

Maximum depths are the manufacturers’ figures at normal room temperature; some apply only up to a set volume per pour (EcoPoxy FlowCast: 30 L) or to moulds (Stone Coat’s 3 in per layer), and Stone Coat says not to mix more than 5 gallons at a time. Larger volumes and warmer rooms reduce the safe depth. Mix ratios are by volume.

Pour within the label. Pouring deeper than a product’s rated depth can overheat and crack the epoxy. Follow the instructions and safety data sheet for your product.
