Working it out
A US gallon is exactly 231 cubic inches. The 10% allowance covers resin left in mixing buckets, small leaks and resin absorbed by the wood. Live-edge channels are rarely the same width end to end, so measure the width every 6–12 inches and use the average.

| MAS Deep Pour ⚠ more than one full kit per layer — MAS advises thinner pours for large slabs | 0.5 in | 4 | 5.2 L | 3:1 | 4.11 gal | 1.37 gal |
| Stone Coat Woodshop Ultra Deep ⚠ mix in batches of no more than 5 gal | 3 in | 1 | 20.8 L | 2:1 | 3.66 gal | 1.83 gal |
Maximum depths are the manufacturers’ figures at normal room temperature; some apply only up to a set volume per pour (EcoPoxy FlowCast: 30 L) or to moulds (Stone Coat’s 3 in per layer), and Stone Coat says not to mix more than 5 gallons at a time. Larger volumes and warmer rooms reduce the safe depth. Mix ratios are by volume.

Pour within the label. Pouring deeper than a product’s rated depth can overheat and crack the epoxy. Follow the instructions and safety data sheet for your product.
